In the past, the men used to provide all the upkeep money for the family. However, times are changing fast especially with the harsh economic climate in the country.
In an interview with Saturday Beats (PunchNg), Junior Pope said that gone are the days when men alone bear the burden of providing single-handedly for the upkeep of the family.
The popular Nollywood actor made it clear that women should start helping their partners with financial responsibilities.
According to Junior Pope, they need to start doing something meaningful to earn a living so as to help with the financial burden on the men.
While speaking on single fathers who do not take care of their children left in the care of their mothers, the movie star said:
“Women should get busy and start working. Gone are the days when the man has to provide all the money that is spent for the upkeep of the family.”
According to the thespian, men should do all that they can to carry the woman along in the decision-making in the family. He said:
“Almost all the cars I have, my wife chose the colour. The woman has to be carried along. That is how issues in a home can be solved.
“Ladies are now well exposed, and their place is no longer in the kitchen. In fact, these days, some women no longer cook and some men are okay with it.
“The way to a man’s heart is no longer the stomach (laughs).”
