Nollywood actress Amarachi Igidimbah recently took to her Instagram page to share her thoughts on the importance of giving powerful names to children. The movie star also appeared to suggest that these names have the potential to impact or shape the destinies of people in life.
Pino Pino, as she is fondly called, used her own Igbo names, Ogochukwu (God’s Favour) and Amarachi (God’s Grace), to show how important they were in her success story. There’s no doubt that many Nollywood lovers would describe Amarachi Igidimbah as a successful actress and even a businesswoman.
She further advised that parents should giver their children powerful names as they follow them throughout their lives. It is common to see people in Nigeria – especially Christians, to give names that glorify God.
It’s pretty safe to say that a name that connects with the Devil will not take the bearer far especially in Africa. Hence, Amarachi wrote:
“My Igbo names are OGOCHUKWU (God’s favour ) given to me by my father and AMARACHI (God’s Grace) given to me by my mother ????, Everyday when I reflect on my life journey , I can’t help but see the importance to powerful names to our children , Maka na trust me , AFA NA ESO MMADU ????( somebody pls help me translate ????) … Na only me my Papa and Mama pack both Favour and Grace give , just imagine ????????………????????❤️????
