Ebube Nwaguru has shared her thoughts on why men hide their struggles in life. The popular Nollywood actress empathized with men, noting that societal expectations often pressure them to appear ‘automatically strong’ and handle challenges like family, work, and other commitments.
Of course, it is expected that men, as head of their families, play a significant role in taking charge of their homes. This comes with hefty financial responsibilities especially in the areas of children’s school fees, house rent, medical bills, as well as other household expenses.
However, this is not to say that his wife or partner living under the same roof, and watching her struggling husband go through a lot to provide for the family, should not help. Sadly, there are those who don’t, preferring to spend their money on clothes, bags, jewelry, and other luxury items just to impress other women.
In fact, there are instances when these women eat outside not minding whether their children have at least had a decent meal. They simply wipe their mouths and return home. It would not be out of place to say that some women no longer perform motherly duties of enquiring about their children’s well-being, be it at home or even in school.
Unfortunately for most men, and we are not only referring to the married ones, they have to man-up or be labelled as weak and unable to cater for himself, speak less of others. Do you know that some men also go through a lot emotionally?
Sadly, they can’t speak due to the nature of them being men. Hence, Ebube Nwaguru showed them some love and appreciation via an Instagram post. She wrote:
“Men go through a lot, they just hide it because society expects them to be MEN (automatically strong)
May God come through for all the men who are having a hard time now”.
