Popular Nollywood actress Ini Edo is in celebratory mood today, April 23, 2024. The movie star is a year older and has already taken to her Instagram page to mark her 42nd birthday with a message that shows her rise despite paths that may not necessarily have been so straightforward. Meanwhile, sharing some absolutely stunning photos, the thespian wrote;
“Happy birthday to me! I am grateful for all the opportunities I’ve had to grow and develop this year. I am grateful for every door that was closed, because it was not the right path for me. I am grateful for everyone who used my kindness and vulnerability as a sign of weakness.. I am here for all the life lessons..
“I will keep loving wholeheartedly, being true to myself and upholding the law of compassion towards as many as come my way. I will stay evolving and will live to my full potential. Iniobong Edo Ekim, popularly known as Ini Edo was born on April 23, 1982 (age 42). She is a Nigerian actress – an Ibibio from Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria. She attended Cornelia Connely College in Uyo, Nigeria and bagged a Diploma in Theatre Arts after she graduated from University of Uyo. Not done, she studied English and got her bachelor’s degree at the University of Calabar.
Ini Edo also received a scholarship to study law at the National Open University of Nigeria in 2014.
For those who do not know, Ini Edo started her acting career in 2000 with her debut in “Thick Madam” having been discovered by a producer at an audition. However, she got her breakthrough role in 2004 with “World Apart” and has since acted in over 100 movies.
She was nominated for “Best Lead Actress” at the 11th Africa Movie Academy Awards for “While You Slept”.
Ini Edo is multi talented and she showed this outside the Nigerian movie industry when she started her luxury fashion and cosmetic brand called Secrets Of April in 2021.
The popular Nollywood actress was once married to Philip Ehiagwina in 2008 but their marriage crashed in September 2014.
Ini Edo had her first child – a girl, Light through surrogacy in 2021.
