Mike Ezuruonye may have been around for a long time, but he still remains relevant and highly respected in the Nigerian movie industry. The popular Nollywood actor is an inspiration to millions of fans across the world who look up to him and his inspirational words. This time, the “Beyond Belief” star advised that people do not seek validation from others. He further stated that one’s biggest commitment is to oneself.
Ezuruonye shared a video on his Instagram page, and said;
“Hey, what’s up? What’s good? What’s going on? Yes, good morning. It’s a great morning. It’s a super duper morning.
“And, um, you know, I just finished talking to some people, and it’s just funny. It’s just funny how people tend to seek validation from people who don’t even care about them. You know, for me, I’m big on energy, and if you have people who do not ricochet the energy that you give, then why seek validation from them? I’ve always been a believer in keeping my circuits small and, of course, very strong within my thought process towards taking me to the apex of wherever I want to go.
“And I believe lots of people should do that too. The strong pill to swallow is that nobody’s ever, ever too busy. Nobody’s ever too busy. I mean, if they don’t care about you, if they don’t give back the energy you give them, then don’t make them your priority. That’s my own. Okay?
“So that’s the way I think, and it has always worked for me. I cannot base my happiness on people who basically have their own problems too, but they don’t align with me. Okay? So I think people should just take you as you are and understand this: the biggest commitment you have is to yourself. It’s to yourself, not to anybody. It’s to yourself first. So you have to love yourself. You have to be confident in yourself. That way, you will grow. Self-confidence is it.
“Okay. So I say good morning. Stay blessed. Let’s have self-confidence. Love ourselves first. If they don’t give you that energy, don’t make them your priority. Stay blessed. Peace out. Make it work.”
He captioned the video;
“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent
Loving yourself is not VANITY But SANITY .
Good day ahead fam”
Reactions to Mike Ezuruonye’s Advice Against Seeking Validation from Others
egbunu_joy: “Ladies n Gents, Valid points made here! ????”.
meagan_thenurse: “Oh yes. I also had instant peace when I realized nobody should have power over you. Somebody can’t just wake up and know that when I tell him this or when I tell her that she’ll respond. You’re busy minding your business and having a great day then you allow someone’s comment get to you? Day instantly ruined by someone you don’t even know? Like why do they have power over you? Never give people the power to influence your thoughts. ”
abigailgiftmacaulay: “The biggest commitment you have is to yourself!”
ken_global2: “The same way I commend on Yul not giving attention to people’s validation concerning his marital issues. Hasn’t the world moved on after the death of Osinachi gospel singer, who remain in abusive marriage just because of what people who doesn’t care will say. Whosoever that take advise from people both online and offline is preparing himself for failure. Na person wey go still deny and turn his back on you, you dey listen to????”
c.shaneel: “That is my Moro, Self-confidence is best steppingstone to achievement always believing yourself ????”
