There have been calls for the family of the late Nollywood actor, Junior Pope Odonwodo, to treat his death as murder instead of drowning, as there were no visible signs of drowning. Fans have demanded an autopsy. In a twist, Pope’s family has not accepted his demise as described by survivors. They’ve decided to plant the ‘Isi Atu’ charm in his village home to expose those responsible for the thespian’s death.
A video was posted on TikTok by a certain Akusinachi, who claimed that a charm called ‘Isi Atu’ had been placed in the late Jnr Pope’s village home. The implication is that anybody involved in his death would be identified. In his own words:
“This thing wey una dey see for this video, for the Igbo language dem dey call am ‘Isi Atu’ that is to tell you say if your hand dey for the death of Jnr Pope, their people no go gree, we be Nsukka people, anybody wey hin hand dey there, if you follow plan make him die, we no go gree, him people no go gree. This place na him place for village, Nsukka people no go gree, we no go gree.”
If you recall, Junior Pope and four others drowned in the Anam River while returning from a movie location, with actress Adanma Luke as the movie’s producer. The tragic incident occurred on April 10, 2024.
Since then, there have been different accounts of the incident from the survivors with many pointing out Nollywood actor, Tochukwu Okafor, also known as TC Virus, as the main suspect in his colleague, Junior Pope’s demise.

In fact, Adanma Luke recently heavily criticized TC Virus for using Junior Pope’s demise to make content while using Fanta as the attention-grabbing plot to cash-in on the late actor’s death. If you recall, TC Virus was seen offering the soft drink in worship to marine spirits by sprinkling it around in other to get protection from the spirits while crossing the river. Adanma Luke took to the comment section of one of his skits to call out her colleague. She wrote:
“So it’s actually true you now use this whole incident for content. You told your colleagues on set how you came to the industry before Jp and how you were the one that wrote his name for him on his first audition now his playing lead ahead of you. The envy and jealousy in the industry is on another level. Hopefully this incident makes you the super star you wanted so desperately.”
The actress and movie producer had since called on the police to arrest TC Virus.
